Carlos Tirado Cortes is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the iCinema Centre, part of the Arts, Design & Architecture faculty at UNSW. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Mexico, followed by a Master of Science in Computer Game Engineering from Newcastle University in the UK. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Technology, Sydney. His expertise includes Human-Computer Interaction, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality. His recent work investigates the use of body kinematics and EEG signals to detect and mitigate VR sickness and postural instability among users. Currently, his primary research interests focus on human interaction within virtual environments, as well as the application of Augmented Reality, alternative input methodologies, and visualization of information in immersive environments.
