Carlotta Scioldo is a researcher and consultant focusing on European Union cultural policies and programs. Her professional academic trajectory has provided her with a multifaceted view of the cultural and creative sector. Driven by a fundamental goal to bridge the communication gap that exists between the cultural sector and policymaking, her work emphasizes the functioning aspirations of the field that often get lost in translation. Carlotta has worked as a dramaturg and was part of the Creative Europe Unit at the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). She served as a Network Manager and Policy Advisor for the European Dancehouse Network and currently works as an External Expert in the evaluation of EU Cultural Cooperation projects. She completed her Ph.D. on European Transnational Networks in the Cultural Sector at the Interfaculty Department of the University and Polytechnic of Turin. Additionally, she was a visiting researcher at UCL’s Public Policy Department, where her work shed light on how European transnational networks operate within the cultural and creative sectors, questioning the political and empirical implications of the EU’s cultural sphere and its external dimension. Her dissertation was awarded the ENCATC Research Award in 2023.
