Biography

Carmen Rasmussen is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Calgary and completed her PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Alberta. Her research is primarily focused on cognitive development, particularly in children with neurodevelopmental disorders and mental health challenges. She studies the effectiveness of cognitive interventions for children and has received funding from several prestigious organizations, including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN). She teaches courses on Infant and Child Development and Adolescent Development, where she covers the biological, cognitive, and social aspects of psychological development during critical periods.
