Biography

Dr. Vasilevsky earned her MDCM from McGill University and completed her residency in General Surgery. She subsequently obtained sub-specialty training in Colon Rectal Surgery from the University of Minnesota before returning to McGill University. She is currently on staff at the Jewish General Hospital, where she holds the position of Director of the Division of Colorectal Surgery. As an Associate Professor in Surgery and Oncology at McGill University, Dr. Vasilevsky has served as the President of the Canadian Society of Colon Rectal Surgeons and as Chair of the Colorectal Surgery subcommittee of the Canadian Association of General Surgeons. Additionally, she has been involved with the National Colorectal Cancer Screening Committee. Her clinical interests focus on colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, and redo colorectal surgery, with a strong emphasis on the surgical management of these conditions.
