Dr. Carol Wade

Biography

Carol Wade is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work, University of Windsor. With 25 years of experience in social work practice and education, she has worked in various capacities within the child welfare sector, including frontline work and management. Carol has taught various social work courses at both undergraduate and master's levels and is engaged in community outreach. She has developed and facilitated workshops aimed at training opportunities for youth workers and social workers, centering around the wellbeing of Black youth, family engagement, and self-reflexivity practice. Her passionate approach to equity practice integration employs critical theories and pedagogies to challenge and deconstruct oppressive practices, encouraging transformative outcomes for young people and families. Carol's research and lived experiences significantly inform her teaching style, focusing on integrating theory into practice to promote transformative learning and action.
