Biography

Carole Vincent holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Laval University. She is the Director of Knowledge Mobilization at CIRANO and Editor-in-Chief of the journal PERSPECTIVES. In this role, she provides leadership in planning and conducting a wide range of research support activities, knowledge transfer, and research valorization within the Québec and Canadian scientific community, as well as with governments. With 25 years of research experience, she has extensive collaborative experience in a multidisciplinary context with the academic research community, government partners, and private sector stakeholders. She plays a key role in the implementation and realization of effective strategies to generate various research valorization products, including scientific publications, outreach articles, and analysis notes, as well as seminars, colloquia, and conferences. She has a deep understanding of research issues related to various economic and social policy challenges and of analysis and evaluation methods in the fields of economic and social sciences. Before joining CIRANO, she served as the General Director of the Inter-University Quebec Center for Social Statistics (CIQSS) at the University of Montreal. Throughout her career, she has held key positions within different research organizations, including the Applied Social Research Society in Ottawa and the Institute of Research on Public Policy in Montreal. She has acted as a consulting expert for many government agencies, including the Review Commission on Quebec Taxation as a Commissioner, the Secretariat for the Status of Women of Quebec, and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.
