Biography

Carolina Dalla Chiesa is an Assistant Professor specializing in Cultural Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research focuses on transformations in cultural markets following digitalization, funding models within the cultural sectors, and organizational dynamics in the arts. Carolina obtained her Ph.D. in Cultural Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2021. She also holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology with honors from UFRGS (2017) and another Master’s degree in Management of Organization Studies from the same institution (2014). Her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration was completed at UFRGS, Brazil, in 2011. Prior to her doctoral studies, Carolina was a postdoctoral fellow in the Culture Sociology Department at Leuphana University in Lueneburg, Germany, where her focus was on the practices of digitally-based creators. She has received a Ph.D. Thesis Prize from the Erasmus Graduate School of Social Sciences and the Humanities and has been recognized with awards at Organization Studies conferences. Carolina has experience as a Lecturer at the Business School of UFRGS, teaching courses in Sociology of Organizations and Introduction to Management Studies, and has also worked as a Project Manager for the Creative Economy Observatory in partnership with Brazil's Ministry of Culture.
