Dr. Carolina Tropini

Biography

Carolina Tropini is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia in the School of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. She is a Paul Allen Distinguished Investigator, a Johnson & Johnson Women STEM2D Scholar, and a CIFAR Fellow in the Human & Microbiome Program, as well as a Michael Smith Foundation Health Research Scholar. Dr. Tropini holds a B.Sc. in Biophysics with Honours and completed her Ph.D. in Biophysics at Stanford University. She also conducted postdoctoral research in Microbiology at Stanford. Her laboratory is a cross-disciplinary group that incorporates diverse engineering techniques to manipulate microbes aiming to improve human health.
