Trained primarily in cinema studies, I work in the broad field of cultural studies. My research focuses on the intersection of materiality, ethics, and aesthetics of media forms, analyzed through visual and narrative arts, primarily cinema and video games. My research has been published in journals such as Screen, Journal of Cinema and Media Studies, Cinémas, and Communication & Langages, as well as in edited collections. In 2017, I edited a special issue of the journal Intermédialités titled 'Mapping (Intermediality)' and co-directed the special issue 'Play!' of the journal Sexualities (SAGE) released in 2023 with Susanna Paasonen. Currently, I am completing a book project on the medial and conceptual adaptations of the diptych form in arts, the material culture of books and literature, moving images, and certain philosophical and thought systems. At the University of Montreal, I am a regular member of the Centre for Intermedial Research on Arts, Letters, and Techniques (CRIalt) and, since 2020, I have also served on the editorial board of the journal Intermédialités.
