Biography

Caroline Brall is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Bern, where she co-manages the Ethics Policy Lab associated with the Multidisciplinary Center of Infectious Diseases (MCID). Her primary research interests include ethics in public health, infectious diseases, policymaking, and the role of digital health technologies. Caroline has an educational background with a BSc in European Public Health, an Honours degree in Governance of Healthcare Innovations, an MSc in Healthcare Policy and Innovation Management, and a PhD from Maastricht University. Additionally, she has held postdoctoral positions at ETH Zurich and CHUV Lausanne, focusing on public health ethics, digital health, clinical ethics, and personalized medicine. She has also worked in both public and private hospitals, including Inselspital Bern and the Hirslanden Hospital Group in Zurich, as well as in the industry with Fresenius Kabi in Frankfurt and NGOs like ASPHER in Brussels. Caroline is deeply engaged in researching the ethics of healthcare innovations, data sharing, and education in medicine and public health.
