I am a medical doctor and PhD student at the Department of General Practice, University of Copenhagen. My PhD project focuses on women suffering from recurrent urinary tract infections, specifically investigating prevention strategies based on scientific literature and expert recommendations. Additionally, I aim to explore the experiences and challenges faced by women and healthcare providers in managing this condition through qualitative interviews. I believe urinary tract infections are a significant area of research, as many women will experience these infections at some point in their lives. A deeper understanding in this area is essential to reduce antibiotic use in general practice and consequently minimize the risk of developing antibiotic resistance. I am passionate about teaching and serve as an instructor in the early patient contact and basic ethics course for first-semester medical students. Previously, I have been involved in quality assurance of research data at the Centre of Excellence for Health, Immunity and Infections, and I have clinical research assistant experience focusing on adrenogenital syndrome. My research interests include fields where knowledge is insufficient, especially women's health, and I strive to conduct research that makes a real difference in individual patient care by incorporating patient perspectives and experiences.
