Biography

Caroline Dorsen, PhD, FNP-BC, FAAN is an Associate Dean and Clinical Professor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Dorsen has dedicated her career to addressing health disparities and developing innovative interventions to enhance outcomes in nursing education and practice. She is actively involved in numerous taskforces focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and has been recognized as a speaker by the National Academy of Medicine. Dr. Dorsen has served as the Program Director for the National University Psychedelic Education Program and has held leadership roles at Rutgers University. Her academic background includes a BA in Anthropology from UC Berkeley, a BS in Nursing from NYU, an MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Yale University, and a PhD in Nursing Research and Theory from NYU. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Clinical Translational Science Institute at NYU Langone Health. Additionally, she has received several awards for her teaching excellence and contributions to nursing, including the Dean’s Distinguished Teaching Award and the MLK, Jr. Faculty Award from NYU. Dr. Dorsen's research interests encompass vulnerable and marginalized populations, LGBTQIA+ health, and community health.
