Dr. Caroline Hendry

Biography

Caroline Hendry is a Scientific Director and Advisor Chair of Genetics at Yale School of Medicine, where she directs the Office of Strategic Research Development. She is responsible for enhancing research innovation and discovery through strategic portfolio planning and advisory collaboration. Caroline leads cross-functional activities in rare disease research and population health screening, and has played a crucial role in operational processes within basic and clinical research areas. Originally from Brisbane, Australia, she earned her undergraduate degree in Genetics from the University of Queensland and completed her Ph.D. in developmental genetics at the Institute of Molecular Bioscience. After a postdoctoral fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, she took on the role of Reviews Editor for the journal Development, focusing on stem cell regeneration. Since joining Yale in 2018, Caroline has co-investigated several large NIH grants and is currently pursuing an MBA at Yale School of Management, specializing in the healthcare sector.
