Biography

Caroline Moul is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, having joined the institution in 2015. She completed her undergraduate honors degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge in 2005 and subsequently worked at the Institute of Criminology and the Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College London. In 2009, she relocated to Australia to undertake a PhD in Psychology at the University of New South Wales, where she also worked as a post-doctoral research fellow. Her primary research interests lie in the biological mechanisms and cognitive processes underlying the development of personality traits, particularly maladaptive traits such as callous-unemotional traits and anxiety. Dr. Moul's work addresses questions related to associative learning deficits and their relationship to personality development, as well as the interaction of genotype and phenotype in psychopathy. Additionally, she researches childhood obesity and is keenly interested in the roles of genetics and epigenetics in its aetiology and consequences for future well-being. She is involved in teaching developmental psychology courses at the university.
