Biography

Caroline Trippel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University. Her research has significantly influenced the design of RISC-V ISA memory consistency models, including formal analysis and participation in the RISC-V Memory Model Task Group. Trippel's work has produced innovative methodologies and tools, synthesizing new variants of the well-known Meltdown and Spectre attacks. Her research has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the IEEE Top Picks distinctions and the 2020 ACM SIGARCH/IEEE CS TCCA Outstanding Dissertation Award. Additionally, she received the 2020 CGS/ProQuest® Distinguished Dissertation Award in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Engineering and was awarded the NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship for the 2017-2018 academic year. Trippel was selected to attend the 2018 MIT Rising Stars in EECS Workshop. She earned her PhD in Computer Science from Princeton University and her BS in Computer Engineering from Purdue University.
