Carolynne Cormack is a senior lecturer in the Master of Medical Ultrasound program with over 30 years of clinical experience as a sonographer. She is currently completing her PhD focused on the development of point-of-care ultrasound education in Australasia. Carolynne has served the ultrasound profession in various leadership advisory roles, including as a Director on the board of the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR), which is responsible for accrediting sonographer education programs in the country. She sits on the Fellowship panel of the Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) and is part of the Scope of Practice expert panel. Carolynne has previously been the Chairperson for the ASA's Victorian committee and served as an elected Director for the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Groups in Australia and New Zealand. Her significant contributions to the sonography profession have been recognized with awards such as the ASA Sonographer of the Year (Victoria) in 2022 and ASA Educator of the Year in 2016. She became an inaugural ASA Fellow in 2018 and is a regular peer reviewer for several academic journals. Carolynne is often invited to speak at conferences and has a particular interest in interprofessional collaboration, point-of-care ultrasound, and educational research in health professions.
