Biography

Carrie H. Cohen has a distinguished record of success in the courtroom, particularly in high-stakes litigation, with a focus on white-collar and securities cases. She is a Partner at Morrison & Foerster, specializing in White Collar Defense. Before joining the firm, Ms. Cohen served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where she tried cases involving public corruption, investment fraud, and securities, notably securing the conviction of Sheldon Silver, a former Speaker of the New York State Assembly, on charges of corruption and money laundering. Ms. Cohen has also worked at the New York State Attorney General’s Office, where she led the Public Integrity Unit in the Criminal Division and previously served in the Civil Rights Bureau, receiving the Louis J. Lefkowitz Memorial Award for outstanding service. Her extensive experience includes serving as lead counsel in significant public corruption cases and handling various complex criminal and civil investigations. She is also notable for her leadership roles in bar associations, including serving as Vice President of the New York City Bar and chairing several important committees.
