Dr. Carrie Mcainey

Biography

Carrie McAiney is an Associate Professor and the Schlegel Research Chair in Dementia at the University of Waterloo's School of Public Health Sciences. She is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University. McAiney’s research focuses on improving the quality of care experiences for people living with dementia and their caregivers. She employs collaborative approaches that involve working with individuals who have lived experience, family care partners, policymakers, and researchers to identify meaningful research questions and disseminate findings to diverse stakeholders. Her specific research interests encompass long-term care, retirement living, primary care, participatory research, and implementation science. Additionally, she is engaged in graduate supervision and actively accepts students with interests related to dementia care.
