Dr. Carsten Krauss

Biography

Carsten Krauss is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Alberta. His research interests are primarily focused on neutrino physics and dark matter detection. With a career spanning over two decades, he has contributed extensively to experiments that seek to understand the fundamental properties of neutrinos and the nature of dark matter. After completing his Diploma in 1999 from RWTH Aachen and his PhD in 2002 from Heidelberg University, Krauss served as a postdoctoral researcher at both Heidelberg University and Queen's University. He has held several academic positions, transitioning from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and eventually to Full Professor at the University of Alberta. He has led important research projects at SNOLAB and is known for his work on building and operating new particle detectors, which are vital for advancing the field of particle physics. Krauss has a notable publication record, contributing to high-impact journals in the field of physics, particularly in studies related to dark matter and neutrinos.
