Biography

Cassandra Opikokew Wajuntah is an Associate Professor in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. She has a rich interdisciplinary background with over 15 years of experience working with Indigenous communities both locally and internationally, focusing on practical solutions to health and policy-related challenges. As the Director of the Indigenous Peoples' Health Research Centre, she has played a vital role in securing substantial funding for Indigenous health research in Saskatchewan, totaling over $20 million. Additionally, she has been involved in various significant research projects aimed at developing culturally appropriate healthcare services and enhancing the representation and inclusion of Indigenous populations in health research.
