Biography

Caterina's PhD goal is to develop models that combine agent-based modeling and optimization techniques to simulate the effects of net-zero policies on businesses and industries. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Italy and a Master's in Computational Science and Engineering from ETH Zurich, where her research focused on climate modeling and data analysis. Her Master's thesis, conducted at the California Institute of Technology, investigated the role of satellite observations in calibrating microphysics models within climate systems. She was awarded the ETH Medal in 2025 for her Master's thesis in the Department of Mathematics. Additionally, Caterina is currently working at a climate risk analytics start-up in Zurich (Correntics AG), where she is involved in data science, data analysis, and software development. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, playing volleyball, hitting the gym, and reading, and is always happy to receive recommendations or chat about current reads.
