Dr. Caterina Doglioni

Biography

Caterina Doglioni is a professor of particle physics at the University of Manchester, where she has developed a strong focus on the physics of dark matter. She holds a PhD in physics of strong interactions from the University of Oxford and has considerable experience stemming from her postdoctoral research positions at the University of Geneva and Lund University. She has led research in areas related to the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, working collaboratively with a group of Master's and PhD students as well as postdoctoral researchers funded by the European Research Council. Her research interests encompass real-time analysis in particle physics, computer software, machine learning, and hybrid computing architectures. Throughout her career, Caterina has engaged with international colleagues to address the challenges of data-rich research environments and explore rare processes that aid in the quest for understanding dark matter and future particle colliders. With additional experience as a senior lecturer at Lund University from April 2015 to August 2023, her work contributes significantly to the advancement of digital futures in data science and AI.
