Biography

Caterina Moruzzi holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Nottingham (2018) and an artist diploma in piano performance from Conservatorio G.B. Martini, Bologna (2014). She has previously worked as a research associate at the University of Konstanz and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Turin. Moruzzi's research interests are situated at the intersection of human and artificial creativity, exploring topics in Responsible AI, Human-AI Co-Creativity, and the philosophy of creativity. She is a BRAID Research Fellow, leading a project in collaboration with Adobe to promote responsible integration of AI tools in creative practices. Additionally, she serves as a Co-Investigator on UKRI-funded CoSTAR DeCADE projects, investigating the disruptive effects of emerging technological innovations on creative workflows. Moruzzi's engagement extends to panel discussions and conferences, where she convenes stakeholders from academia, industry, and policy-making to discuss the impacts of AI in the creative sector. She promotes interdisciplinary collaborations and has recently initiated a research cluster titled 'Creativity, AI, Human' at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, where she also holds the position of Senior Fellow. Moruzzi has published scholarly work in various journals and conference proceedings, including the European Journal of Philosophy and Science, British Journal of Aesthetics, and ACM Communication Design Quarterly.
