Biography

Catherine Blake is a professor in the School of Information Sciences and serves as the Health Innovation Professor at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Blake's extensive background includes industrial software development and over a decade of research experience in text mining and natural language processing, primarily within biomedicine. Blake earned her master's and doctoral degrees in Information Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, and has bachelor's and master's degrees in Computer Science from the University of Wollongong.
