Catherine Chan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), specializing in Photovoltaic Engineering. She received her PhD in Photovoltaic Engineering in 2014, focusing on novel laser processes for silicon solar cells. After completing her PhD, she worked part-time with UNSW's Technology Transfer Team, commercializing UNSW’s advanced laser doped selective emitter technology and hydrogenation processes. As a postdoctoral research fellow at UNSW, Dr. Chan has contributed significantly to the research and development of crystalline silicon solar cells. Her research interests include advanced hydrogen passivation of defects in silicon and understanding light-induced degradation in mono and multi-crystalline solar cells. Her work has led to the development of industrial tools designed to mitigate light-induced degradation (LID) in commercial silicon solar cells, which are now available on the market to produce LID-free cells. Dr. Chan is the inventor of more than 10 patents and has published over 70 research papers in her field.
Includes Business Intelligence, Enterprise Systems, and Cybersecurity Management streams.
