Biography

Cathy Clark has been a prominent figure in the fields of social entrepreneurship and impact investing for over 30 years. She is currently the Faculty Director of the Center for Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, as well as the Founding Director of the CASE i3 Initiative on Impact Investing. Throughout her academic career, she has taught at Duke University, UNC, and Columbia Business School, focusing on developing practical tools and strategies to enhance social and environmental impact through business. Cathy’s contributions to the field include co-authoring 35 publications and co-authoring a book entitled 'Impact Investor,' which has gained recognition as a significant resource in finance education. She has been involved in creating standards for B Corporations and has served as the sole academic member on the G8 Task Force for Social Impact Investing. By driving research and educational initiatives, she has engaged over 200 partner institutions and has helped to shape the next generation of impact investors. Additionally, Cathy’s expertise extends to executive education programs, where she teaches on gender-smart investing and offers insight into successful impact investment strategies.
