Dr. Catherine Hamilton

Biography

Catherine Hamilton is an Assistant Professor and Department Chair at the University of New Brunswick, specializing in nursing with a focus on maternal child health, midwifery, and community health. She holds a PhD from the University of Florida, where her research involved understanding state adoption studies through social network analysis. Hamilton's academic journey includes a Master's degree in Maternal-Child Health from Yale University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Nursing and Chemistry from Duke University and Stephens College, respectively. Additionally, she has completed baccalaureate study-abroad at Cambridge University in England. Hamilton has contributed significantly to her field through various research projects and presentations, including investigations into obstetrical outcomes and the development of personal network data collection tools for adolescents. Active in professional service, she is involved with organizations such as the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the North American Council on Adoptable Children, and has received numerous grants and awards for her work, including a substantial federal grant for cancer screening efforts and the John & Suzanne Roueche Excellence Award.
