Biography

Catherine Imbriglio is a Senior Lecturer Emerita at Brown University, specializing in poetry and literary nonfiction. She is the author of several poetry collections, including 'Parts Mass' (2007), which won the Norma Farber Book Award from the Poetry Society of America, and 'Intimacy' (2013), awarded the Colorado Prize for Poetry. Her poetry has been featured in numerous publications, including 'American Letters & Commentary,' 'The Denver Quarterly,' and 'Pleiades,' among others. Imbriglio's work has been anthologized in the 'Iowa Anthology of New American Poetries' and she has received various fellowships and awards for her contributions to poetry and teaching excellence at Brown University. Her research interests currently focus on creating her fourth book of poems titled 'Fragility' with funding from the Humanities Research Fund at Brown University. In addition to her writing, she offers courses on creative nonfiction and critical writing, emphasizing the interplay between literature and various forms of media, including visual culture and science writing.
