Biography

Catherine Khordoc joined Carleton’s Department of French in 2003, coming back to her academic roots after working at CBC Radio in Québec City. She obtained her B.J.(Honours) and M.A. from Carleton before completing her Ph.D. at the University of Toronto. Her M.A. thesis examined humor in the iconic comic book series, Astérix le Gaulois, while her doctoral dissertation focused on the Tower of Babel myth in contemporary Francophone literature. She has taught French literature at various institutions, including a notable period in Switzerland and the University of Limerick in Ireland. Among her publications are edited volumes and numerous refereed articles discussing themes like migration in literature and intertextual analyses of contemporary works. Awards for her research include the Prix Jean-Cléo Godin from the Association canadienne de recherche théâtrale and an essay prize from the Canadian Studies Network.
