Biography

Catherine Lefèvre is a historian who researches and writes about East–West relations during the Cold War, focusing on the links between politics and finance, and the role of creditor countries in the development of financial crises. She currently serves as a Lecturer in Contemporary Economic History at the University of Glasgow and was previously a Max Weber fellow at the European University Institute. Her prior roles include Research Assistant at the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow, where she worked on the EURECON project, and Associate Lecturer in Economic Social History. Catherine's research interests encompass international political economic relations, UK political economic policy, Business-Government relations, banking, finance, and the impacts of financial crises. Her work contributes to understanding of West European relations with Central and Eastern Europe, Détente, and European political integration from 1945 to 1992.
