Biography

Catherine Myers, often called Cassie, has over 30 years of experience in the field of architectural conservation and currently runs Myers Conservation, a private practice located in Philadelphia, PA. Her firm tackles complex conservation issues that involve mural paintings, decorative architectural paintings, ornamental historic plasters, and architectural finishes. The practice also engages in conservation planning, testing, analysis, and treatment of various projects. Prior to establishing her own firm, Myers held positions in the conservation departments of notable institutions like the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Brooklyn Museum. She served as the Fine Arts Specialist and Office Chief Architect of the General Services Administration's Fine Arts Program in Washington, DC, and worked as a Senior Project Manager for the Getty Conservation Institute in Los Angeles. Myers is actively involved in academia, teaching a graduate seminar on Architectural Finishes and advising thesis students in the Department of Historic Preservation at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Professional Associate member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) and contributes to the Conservation Committee of the International Council of Museums.
