Biography

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Montreal specializing in Quebec and Canadian politics. My research mainly focuses on lifestyle, public opinion, and political behavior in Quebec and Canada. Currently, I am utilizing the concept of lifestyle to enhance our understanding of electoral dynamics in Quebec and Canadian contexts, as well as the formation (and validity) of appearance-based prejudices. Over the past few years, I have acquired rigorous training in methodologies specific to digital social sciences and have developed expertise in creating digital knowledge transfer applications. I am particularly behind the playful data collection tool Datagotchi, first deployed during the 2021 Canadian federal elections and again in the 2022 Quebec provincial elections in partnership with La Presse Canadienne. I am currently discussing with various partners to deploy Datagotchi internationally, including in Mexico, Japan, Bulgaria, and Indonesia. My research has been published in various journals, including Political Communication, Nations & Nationalism, and the Canadian Journal of Political Science.
