Biography

Catherine holds a BFA in Ceramics/Sculpture from the University of Cincinnati (1999) and an MFA in Sculpture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2003). Her research interests focus on sustainable practices in the ceramics field and involve local collaboration and partnerships. Catherine has participated in thirty national juried shows and has held regional workshops, serving as an invited guest lecturer at regional colleges. Since 2003, she has been teaching full-time, engaging students in creative collaboration with the community through ongoing collaborative projects, including CU Jazzfest and the Red Oak Rain Garden Project. Catherine's artistic media includes clay, bronze, sculpture, video, porcelain, and wood, and she emphasizes the importance of stewardship in relation to land and art.
