Dr. Cathleen Fedtke

Biography

Cathleen Fedtke is an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences at the University of New South Wales. She serves as a Principal Research Scientist at nthalmic, a Sydney-based company that develops innovative vision correction solutions. Fedtke is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She has actively contributed to the field through peer-reviewed publications and has served as a voluntary anonymous reviewer for scientific journals. Fedtke's academic journey began with her graduation from the School of Optometry at the University of Applied Sciences in Germany in 2006, followed by a PhD at the Brien Holden Vision Institute at the University of New South Wales in 2011, focusing on developing clinical instruments for measuring global refraction profiles. She has presented her research at both national and international conferences, and her work involves optical modeling, prototyping, and clinical feasibility testing of novel ophthalmic lens products aimed at myopia control.
