Catriona joined the School of Law as a Lecturer in November 2018. She holds a PhD (2018) and an LL.B Honours in Scots Law (2003) from the University of Glasgow, as well as a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (2004) from Glasgow Graduate School of Law. After completing her legal traineeship, she worked for several years in commercial legal practice and is a qualified solicitor specializing in Employment Law. Catriona’s teaching and research interests center around equality law and labour law. She is a member of the School’s GO Justice Centre, which aims to empower communities and individuals to use the law for access to justice and to achieve social and economic inclusion. Catriona is also part of the research team for the Women in Law Project, which focuses on documenting the past and advocating for the future of women in law in Scotland and beyond. She serves in various roles, including Deputy Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, and Co-lead of the Decolonising School of Law Forum. Catriona is actively involved with the Law Society of Scotland's Employment Law and Equality Law sub-committees and is the Secretary of the Scottish Discrimination Lawyers’ Association. Her research interests include equality law, anti-discrimination law, and labour law, particularly in relation to religion, gender, and disability equality.
