Dr. Caty Johnson

Biography

Caty Johnson is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in the Undergraduate Studies Program and a Manager at the Center for Circulatory Support at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Eastern Michigan University. Johnson specializes in critical care nursing and is actively involved in initiatives aimed at improving healthcare quality and safety. Her expertise includes enhancing nursing recruitment and retention, as well as leveraging LEAN methodologies to improve daily care experiences. Currently, she is co-principal investigator on research grants focused on standardizing staff education related to inpatient care for patients with ventricular assist devices. Johnson is committed to bettering the patient care experience in fast-paced environments, particularly in the Emergency Department and Medical Intensive Care Unit. Her leadership is centered on helping nurses improve safety and quality measures while streamlining system processes for the benefit of patients and the nursing profession as a whole.
