Cécile Dreiss is a Reader in Soft Matter at King's College London, where she has been a faculty member since 2005. Her research focuses on understanding and exploiting self-assembly in colloidal, polymeric, and biological systems, establishing relationships between properties at the macro-scale (e.g., rheological behaviour) and morphology at the nanoscale. Dreiss utilizes neutron scattering techniques extensively in her work. Current research projects include thermoresponsive hydrogels, Pickering emulsions, and the interfacial processes of lipid digestion. She has held various leadership positions promoting diversity and inclusion within the college, including serving as a Senior Tutor for the MPharm programme. Dreiss has an educational background in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from ENSIC (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques, France) and received her PhD from Imperial College in 2003. Subsequently, she completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Bristol in the School of Chemistry.
