Biography

Cécile Tremblay is a microbiologist and infectious disease specialist at the Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM). She holds the Pfizer/Université de Montréal Chair in Translational Research on HIV and is a full professor in the Department of Microbiology, Infectiology, and Immunology at Université de Montréal. She directs two pan-Canadian cohorts studying the determinants of HIV disease progression and their impact on accelerated aging phenotypes associated with HIV. Her research focuses on the genetic evolution of the virus, its entry into cells, and resistance to antiretroviral drugs. Dr. Tremblay is also the director of the Quebec Public Health Laboratory and works on strengthening research capacities in health in resource-limited countries.
