Cecilia Prêle is an Associate Professor and Principal Research Fellow at the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Western Australia. She was awarded her PhD in Biochemistry from University College London, UK in 2001. She completed a short postdoctoral position at Guy’s, St Thomas’ Kings College London before relocating to Perth. Her research primarily investigates the molecular mechanisms of signal transduction pathways activated in disease, particularly how these pathways contribute to the initiation and progression of disease. She is involved in a larger collaborative research program aimed at understanding the mechanisms that drive lung tissue repair and regeneration. Her research interests include the molecular mechanisms underlying lung fibrosis, the regulatory mechanisms of lung repair and regeneration, and the multi-potential nature of mesothelial cells in serosal repair. Over the years, she has contributed to several research projects and has a significant h-index demonstrating her impact in the field.
