Biography

Cecily Becker is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of the Externship Program at Texas A&M University School of Law. She received her J.D. from Gonzaga School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 1997, and is a member of the Law Review and Alpha Sigma Nu. With a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from the University of Virginia, Becker has diverse experiences, having worked as a Contract Specialist at the Naval Air Systems Command and in private practice focusing on commercial litigation. Becker's passion lies in experiential education, particularly in enhancing field placement experiences for law students. She is dedicated to improving legal education and effectively preparing students for practical legal work. Becker enjoys helping students discover their potential in the legal field, guiding them in developing their professional identity and skills. Outside of academia, she has interests in gemology and mineralogy, and enjoys collecting rocks and fossils. Becker is also fond of watching old movies.
