Dr. Celeste Poe

Biography

Dr. Celeste Poe is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in perinatal mental health and child development practices. She completed her residency and fellowship training at the Yale Child Study Center and earned her Ph.D. from Palo Alto University. Dr. Poe is also a proud alumna of Xavier University of Louisiana, where she received her bachelor’s degree. Currently, she holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine, where she directs the NICU Psychology Program at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. In this role, she provides psychological consultation and psychotherapy to parents undergoing hospitalization due to high-risk pregnancies and for parents of infants in the NICU. Her clinical specialties include perinatal and infant mental health, maternal-infant critical care, and addressing child caregiver trauma and grief. Dr. Poe's research focuses on Black perinatal mental health, mental health equity, infant-parent mental health in medical settings, and intergenerational trauma. She is a Co-Chair of the National Network of NICU Psychologists and has been appointed to the American Psychological Association's committee on children, youth, and families.
