Celestine Gonzalez De Bustamante is a professor at the School of Journalism and Media, Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin. She has held significant roles in many academic organizations, including serving as chair for the Elected Standing Committee on Research within the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, and co-heading the Border Journalism Network. Before her tenure at Moody College, she co-founded and served as director of the University of Arizona Center for Border and Global Journalism, while also holding a courtesy appointment with the Center for Latin American Studies. Gonzalez De Bustamante received her Ph.D. in History from the University of Arizona and has over 15 years of experience as a journalist in the commercial and public television sectors.
