Biography

Céline Heuzé is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg specializing in climatology. She utilizes in-situ observations, climate models, and AI remote sensing to investigate interactions within the deep ocean, sea ice, glaciers, and the atmosphere, primarily in Arctic regions. Céline obtained her PhD in physical oceanography from the University of East Anglia in 2015 and subsequently relocated to Sweden as a VINNMER/Marie Curie Incoming Fellow. She has received prestigious accolades such as the 2022 Ocean Science division Outstanding Early Career Scientist award from the European Geosciences Union and the 2024 Royal Society Arts Sciences Gothenburg Birger Karlsson science prize. Her current research projects focus on the dynamics of Arctic sea ice and involve collaborations with PhD student Carmen (Hau Man) Wong and postdoctoral researcher Zhi-Bo Li. Céline teaches various courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Advanced Climate Data Analysis and Climate Modelling. Her research interests encompass climate data analysis, climate modeling, and the effects of climate change on Arctic environments.
