Céline Portenier is a PostDoctoral researcher at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern. She specializes in Remote Sensing, focusing on high-resolution snow line monitoring in the Swiss Alpine area. Her academic journey includes a PhD centered on high-resolution snow cover retrieval using public webcams and a Master’s degree researching the georectification of snow classification webcam images, presenting alternative methods to complement satellite-derived snow maps of Switzerland. Portenier’s work primarily centers around the integration of remote sensing technologies with image processing and computer vision techniques, contributing innovative insights into snow monitoring and classification, crucial for understanding climatic variations in mountainous environments.
