Dr. Cesare Ardito

Biography

Cesare Giulio Ardito is a pure mathematician and a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Manchester. He obtained his PhD from the same university, studying modular representation theory and finite group theory, particularly focusing on global-local conjectures. His research interests also extend to higher education pedagogy, with a specific emphasis on the impact of generative AI from the student perspective. Prior to his role at Manchester, Dr. Ardito worked as a researcher in Algebra Representation Theory at City University of London and contributed to projects focused on digital trust and security. He holds a Bachelor’s (1st class) and Master’s (1st class) degree in Mathematics from Sapienza University of Rome. In addition to his teaching and research, he is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK and a member of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. Cesare is actively engaged in projects that aim to explore the effectiveness and ethical implications of AI tools in education, and he frequently contributes to talks and presentations on these subjects.
