Biography

Chagai M. Weiss is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto, where he holds the Andrea Charles Bronfman Chair in Israeli Studies and is cross-appointed at the Center for Jewish Studies. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has held prestigious fellowships as a predoctoral fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Middle East Initiative and as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University. His research primarily focuses on the political effects of institutional remedies to conflict and polarization. He has published or has forthcoming work in notable academic outlets, including Cambridge University Press, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Journal of Political Science, American Political Science Review, Journal of Politics, and Comparative Political Studies. Weiss's current book project, titled “Prejudice Reduction Scale: Institutional Inclusion Reduces Social Exclusion,” is under contract with Princeton University Press.
