Dr. Chaitan Khosla

Biography

Chaitan Khosla is the Harold M. Petiprin Professor at Stanford University, with a courtesy appointment in Chemistry and an affiliation with Biochemistry. His research interests focus on the interface between chemistry and medicine, particularly in the Khosla Laboratory. Over the past years, his lab has investigated the catalytic mechanisms of modular megasynthases and polyketide synthases, while concurrently harnessing programmable chemistry to prepare new antibiotics. The research group also delves into the pathogenesis of celiac sprue, an autoimmune disease associated with HLA-DQ2, affecting the small intestine.
