Chaitanya Sambrani is an art historian and curator specializing in modern and contemporary art from Asia, focusing particularly on tradition, marginality, and politics. He teaches courses on modernism and contemporary art in India, Indonesia, China, and Japan, as well as curatorial practice. He leads an interdisciplinary digital project titled "Wonders of Basham Saw," collaborating with colleagues from ANU, the National Gallery of Australia, the National University of Singapore, and the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford. As the Convenor of Higher Degrees Research, he oversees the MPhil and PhD programs at the School of Art and Design.
