Biography

Chance Hunt (MLIS, University of Washington, 1992) has enjoyed a 30-year career in public libraries, municipal government, and teaching full-time at the Information School. He has served as a children's librarian, youth services manager, and public services administrator in public libraries within the King County region. Chance led the Broadband Community Technology division for the City of Seattle. At local and state levels, he has focused on innovative programs and services that activate public spaces and increase access to library services through digital technologies. His work on the project 'What Kids Read Book?' earned him recognition from Library Journal as a 'Mover Shaker' in 2004. Avidly supporting community collaboration, Chance has served on the boards of Team Read and Seattle CityClub.
