Professor Balaratnasingam is a consultant ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical diseases of the retina. His role as Director of Training for the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists involves overseeing the selection and examination of registrars in the specialty training program in ophthalmology at the University of Western Australia.
